At the United Nations, our priority areas are following the work of the Security
Council, the Peacebuilding Commission and strenghtening or building friendships.
I am pleased to announce that for the first time, Timor-Leste has put forth its
candidature to run for an inter-governmental body, namely, the Human Rights Council
for the term 2008-2011.
